Class Goals and Outline |

Students will read a seminal work on Japanese culture, and acquire the basic knowledge and investigative skills necessary to systematically understand Japanese language and culture. Students will learn these skills through reading assignments. Students will take turns presenting the assigned reading each class. |

Course Content |
|
Readings will provide international students studying on a specialized curriculum necessary knowledge of Japanese language and culture (explanations of the meaning/content of the texts will be given as they read). The class focuses on modern writing. At every class, a student will be expected to present the assigned reading. |
