Class Goals and Outline |
|
Students will watch Japanese films (some of which do not have Japanese subtitles) made mainly in the 1970s and later. Students will deepen their understanding of Japanese society/culture and become capable of intimately participating in the Japanese-speaking community by acquainting themselves with the social, economic, and familial changes in Japan depicted in these films. Students will be asked to submit 6 reports on film content in Japanese. Grading will be based on these reports and a final report. |
