Class Goals and Outline

In the first half of the class, international students will research events in their own countries/regions that are of interest to Japanese students and cooperate with Japanese students to give presentations. In the second half of the class, international students will research conditions for studying abroad in their own countries/regions in cooperation with Japanese students and explain the merits to Japanese students of studying overseas, career paths after studying abroad, etc.  Students will deepen their understanding of their own home countries/regions, and inform the Japanese students about them.

Eligibility

A2.1 level in the CEFR/JF Standard for Japanese-Language Education (N3 in the JLPT).

Learning Objectives

-Learn about events in one's home country/region that are of interest to Japanese students and explain them in some detail in Japanese

-Learn what kind of lives Japanese students lead in one's home country/region and how their opportunities are increased after studying abroad; learn to explain these in some detail in Japanese

-Cooperate with Japanese students to give a logical, understandable presentation

Number of Classes (per week)

Fall/spring terms: once/week (1 period/week), 15 classes total 

Course Content

-Examination of one's own home country/region and its universities from the perspective of Japanese students

-Discover the merits of studying in overseas universities to Japanese students

-Learn to cooperate with Japanese students to give an understandable presentation in Japanese

Evaluation Method

Presentation on events (30%), presentation on university (30%)

Participation (40%): Attendance, participation in class activities
