Class Goals and Outline |

Students will participate in part of the actual planning for a short-term winter program (2 weeks) for international students. In planning the program, they will gain fundamental knowledge related to multicultural communication. *During spring term, they will plan a short-term summer program. |

A2.1 level in the CEFR/JF Standard for Japanese-Language Education (N3 in the JLPT). |

Learning Objectives |

-Learn to independently understand practical written Japanese (tourism materials/information, regional history, information on Tohoku University's characteristics and activities) -Learn to select appropriate materials to discuss with Japanese students in Japanese and perform consensus-building -Create and actually carry out an activity plan with Japanese and international students |

Course Content |

-Learn about the short-term winter program (or during spring term, a short-term summer program). -Learn basics of multicultural communication -Give proposals for attractive short-term winter programs -Actually participate in part of the program, observe/record how it is being implemented, participant reactions, etc. |
